Basic Recipe
Chop and place these in a steam basket:
Two carrots
1 beetroot
4 apples
A few large green leaves, like snijbeet
When you can slide a knife through the carrots, transfer everything to a blender
Add 1 large package of blueberries
Add any of the following, based on your doshic health requirements and your preferred taste
Lemon juice
Coconut milk, coconut juice (only for pitta in summer)
Almond milk
Chywanprash (Ayurvedic spiced jam)
Fennel fronds
Coriander stalks
Ripe banana (caution with ama)
Ghee, coconut oil, or hemp oil
Ginger
Cinnamon
Cardemom
Chili
Blend, adding hot water as needed
How to choose ingredients right for you
One way to think about foods is whether you need a warming action or a cooling action. Another is to consider whether there is too much dryness or too much wet/stickiness in your condition. I’ve provided both here:
